What does tyre rotation do?

Different positions on a vehicle can wear tyres at different rates. Moving them in an appropriate pattern can help distribute that wear. Rotation cannot restore tread that has already worn away or repair a damaged tyre.

See Michelin’s tyre rotation guidance for an explanation of tyre wear and rotation patterns.

A pattern that suits your vehicle.

There is no single rotation pattern for every car. Tell the team if the front and rear tyre sizes differ, and bring your vehicle handbook if available. Directional tyres must retain their specified direction of travel; Michelin explains these markings in its technical tyre FAQs.

Describe any vibration or uneven wear when you enquire. You may also need an assessment for wheel alignment or balancing, which address different issues.

BEFORE YOUR VISIT

Your questions,
answered.

How often should I rotate my tyres?

Use the interval in your vehicle handbook and any applicable tyre manufacturer guidance. The team can help you plan the work for your setup and usage.

Can every vehicle have its tyres rotated?

The appropriate pattern depends on the tyres and vehicle. Different front and rear sizes or directional markings can limit the options, so have the setup checked first.

Is rotation the same as alignment or balancing?

No. Rotation changes tyre positions. Alignment concerns wheel angles; balancing concerns weight distribution in the wheel and tyre assembly. Read our alignment and balancing guide to compare them.

How much does tyre rotation cost?

Contact Burleigh Heads or Southport with your vehicle details. Ask for the complete price and confirm what is included before booking.
