Owner’s Story

Owner, Automotive Engineer, Entrepreneur, and Family Man

When he was just 16, Chris Lett joined the army and discovered his passion: automotive engineering. His decades as a military mechanic led him back to his beginnings – this time, as a journeyman who trained up-and coming apprentices. After leaving the army, he spent several years as a distinguished leader in the sporting world before dedicating himself to building up his own business: Branigans Tyres. That was nearly 20 years ago, and Chris still finds satisfaction in serving his community with his family-run tyre business in Burleigh Heads and Southport.

Who We Are

At the helm, we have Chris Lett, the automotive engineer and entrepreneur: “I know a bit about cars,” he says with self-effacing humour. Hana takes care of the accounting side of things, but she’s also the matriarch whom everyone loves and respects. Son of the family, Shane, is the man behind Branigans Southport and is a key player in the business as a whole. A staff of highly trained tyre fitters and motor mechanics is part of the family – although not relatives in the truest sense of the word.
